Personal Information
Fatima Salman Abdulla, born 7 September 1998 in the UAE along with two sisters. I was raised in Dubai, the home of innovation, evolution, and diversity. I myself am diverse in nature, ethnically mixed, with family all around the world.
I am a person who strives to achieve their goal. It was the summer of 2010 when I first opened my eyes to the world, wanting to know what was down the road, and wondering what I would do. Since then, it has become my mission to achieve the most I could, while I could. I have a lot of interests that got me started on my insane bucket list.
I'd already been collecting snow globes from around the world for a couple years, and I thought, why not collect as a hobby? I did. I continued to collect stamps and coins with my father, as well as any kind of card, be it a Disneyworld pass, a hotel card, or even a post card. When I got into theater, I provided playbills a home. Till today, I continue my collections.
My father has got to be my biggest role model. Forget celebrities or teachers. My mentor is my dad. There is something about the way his brain works, in such a strategic way that I admire. He's brilliant and ingenious, not to mention creative and extremely precise. Yes, this is a 'me' page, but if it weren't for my father, I wouldn't be me.
A passion that has been with me since a child: reading, thanks to my mother. I would give up the world for books. I'm always reaching for the next bestseller, classic, motivational novel, and always turning another page. I can honestly say that the majority of my allowance as a young person went into novels.
When I started collecting, I decided to fuse two hobbies into one mega-hobby; and started to collect books. My sisters and I have a collection of almost more than five-hundred (500) fictional novels, with the occasional nonfiction book. Thankfully for my parents (and their pockets), I was soon introduced to libraries. Then, there came a time when I wanted the same action and adventure the characters in my books had, but with such restrictions during my childhood, I let out my desire for more, in the form of sports.
Sports… was tough. I love sports. Unfortunately, I am not the best at it. As a kid, I was fragile, and every attempt at being sporty resulted in a pitiful, painful end. I’ve tried tennis, badminton, swimming, snowboarding, skateboarding, ice skating, running, dancing, and gymnastics. Out of those, I find myself most accomplished at badminton, ice skating, and running. I do enjoy walks, and would rather walk to my destination. That’s the reason I love New York.
New York is where I dream to be. I want to know the streets like the back of my hand, take a stroll down Central Park, go to sleep with the sound of the city in my ears. This city is a passion of mine. Many say I dream too big, and that I should stick to what I have right in front of me. I disagree. I'm not dreaming at all. I’m planning, and reaching for what I want.
